Will driving without my catalytic converter have a negative effect on my vehicle in any way?

2006 c230 if it matters. I am planning to take the catalytic converter taken out so that I can put in an exhaust flame kit.|||german cars dont like you fooling with their pipes/computer will start going crazy/02 sensor is final run control on computer for fuel injection and will start to pour more gas as heat will be not right temp/wanna do this crap get an old chevy/circa 76 and start playing with that/these later models have everything connected/expect poor gas miles/poor performance/black smoke/worked on beemers and mbs for years and cant get by the computers|||It matters only because it will cost so much to put it back together come smog test time. You will probably feel no difference in driveability, but your check engine light will come on and never go out until it is reinstalled. If the feds find that you did that, it is a $10,000 fine.|||with a 2006 you might want to make sure you have a way to put the cat back one when it's time to smog or you will not pass.

But it wont affect performance negative. In fact you might notice a slight hp gain.|||It will not pass smog tests. But it will not mess up your car
