Catalytic converter?

OK not to long ago i asked a question about my catalytic converter being removed by the muffler shop people, mine was working fine before they removed it. I went back to try to get it, they told me it wouldn't work anymore. Once they remove it, Supposedly it burns and cant be used again.

Is this for reals or is this guy just pulling my chain?|||well, once its removed from a vehicle, they catalytic converter doesn't self destruct, melt down, implode or anything else.sounds too me like its a shady shop, and what they did, was sell you a "new" converter while getting the scrap price for your other one. id suspect the guy took ya to the cleaners on that, and i would get in touch with a lawyer regarding legal recourse. if your in the u.s you can check on the business at www.bbb.com which is the better business bureau. if they have had lawsuits etc against them before it'd show that ( if they're registered,or sufficient complaints have been submitted to the bbb ) and it will also tell you the company's rating|||simple answer, they destroy it by cutting it off and when you went back to get it they had thrown it in the scrap pile. But wait just a minute, did they put a new catalytic converter on your car, and why did they pull the old one off, what pretense did they offer. You got sold a bill of goods.|||he might be right but if think he is lying 2 u just tell him not to put another one on because u dont have to have it to run ur car but it might smoke a litte more than usual
