What is the original warranty on a catalytic converter for a 2003 Ford Taurus sedan?

My car had 97K miles when the catalytic converter broke. I'm wondering whether it should have been covered by warranty, even though the dealer said it was not. THANKS!|||Yep, the federally-mandated emissions warranty covered two components: The Catalytic converter and the computer (PCM, ECM, whatever you want to call it)

8 years, or 80,000 miles, whichever came first, starting from the date the car was first put into service when new.

Your dealer told you correctly, yours was out of warranty. Sorry.|||The original warrantee was 8 years from it's original date of purchase, or 80,000 miles, whichever occured first.|||we just got rid of our 03 ford taurus...we had the transmission replaced at 35000 miles....they are nothing but a problem and no it shouldnt have been covered under warranty its five years old the warranty is long gone
